About Kathleen

I am running for City Council because I love and value our community, and am committed to helping make it an even better place to live.  As a community volunteer and City Commissioner, I’ve worked hard to protect our small town culture and resolve resident concerns.  As the working parent of a young daughter, it is equally important to me that we continue to provide our children with the safety, security and strong sense of community that Manhattan Beach has always embodied.  Finally, as a member of City Council, I will work with fellow Council members to address our city’s challenges, focusing on issues that matter most to our community. Here is a summary of my background and experience:

Family Life:
•    Married to Brad Jacobson and Proud Mom to Our Daughter, Isabella

Active Community Involvement:
•    Chair, Planning Commission (Commercial/Residential Development)
•    Parking and Public Improvements Commissioner (Neighborhood Traffic Concerns)
•    Parks and Recreation Commissioner (Dog Runs)
•    Measure BB Bond Oversight Committee
•    Beach Cities Health District Strategic Planning Committee (Health & Wellness)
•    Vice President, Leadership Manhattan Beach (LMB)
•    Neptunian Women’s Club
•    Soroptomist International of Manhattan Beach
●    Hometown Fair Volunteer
•    Homeowner and 11 year Resident of East Manhattan Beach

Professional Experience:
•    Senior Counsel with Northrop Grumman Corporation in El Segundo
•    15 years of public policy and legal work in both public and private sectors
•    J.D., Boston University
•    B.A., University of Pennsylvania
•    Bar Admissions: California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania

If you believe in a better future for Manhattan Beach, and you believe that I am best suited to lead that effort, then I humbly request your help in making that change a reality.  If you are interested in joining our winning team, making an endorsement or simply finding out more about this issues I care about, please let me know - we want you!!

Thank you for your support!
